Now in its eighth edition, Frequency comes back with a bold new format, combining its much-loved digital creativity with the sparkle of Lincoln Lights. The result? A city-wide celebration that’s bigger, brighter and more playful than ever, with interactive installations and plenty of “wow” moments for all ages.

Some of Lincoln’s most iconic locations will be reimagined after sunset. From Lincoln Castle and Lincoln Cathedral to the Cornhill, City Square, High Street and surrounding streets buzz with creative surprises. Expect illuminated trails, colourful projections and hands-on artworks that invite children (and grown-ups!) to explore, touch, listen and play.

There’s plenty for curious minds to discover. Highlights include a fiery, dragon-inspired light show at Lincoln Castle created especially for families; playful walkabout performances featuring a fox and an otter inspired by Lincoln’s viral CCTV moment; and young creatives can also get involved with workshops and experiences designed to spark imagination.

Families can experiment with light painting, discover how sound and visuals come together, or step into immersive worlds inspired by video games, history and storytelling. One audio-visual trail even brings to life the personal stories of servicemen and women connected to Lincolnshire, blending learning with creative exploration.

Produced by Threshold, Frequency Festival brings together artists from across the UK and around the world, alongside local partners, to create joyful shared experiences in the heart of the city.
