As well as many in-house productions, showcases and specialist masterclasses, PQA students have the chance to see their short film projects on the big screen of their local cinema, where they get to walk down the red-carpet Hollywood-style! Films are regularly submitted to film festivals, and some are selected for PQA’s own annual Film Festival; another chance to walk the red-carpet and share work with other students from around the country. Students also have the opportunity to take part in one of the PQA theatre shows in London’s glittering West End.
Younger children have their own dedicated ‘Poppets’ class with a mix of singing, dance and drama – and even occasional film projects to get them started!
PQA was started by actress Pauline Quirke and her producer husband Steve Sheen in 2007 with an Academy in their local town Beaconsfield. This very successful venture led to further openings over the years. Now over 170 Academies nationwide are run by Principals who work in partnership with Pauline and her team.
Now in its 4th year, PQA Lincoln is enrolling new students in September and has limited places available. Those interested are invited to attend an open session at the academy on September 4th, where they can take part in classes, meet the team and discover what we’re all about.
Sessions run in central Lincoln on Saturday mornings from 10am – 1pm.
