Take a trip under the sea this Easter when the New Theatre Royal Lincoln present their Easter Production, The Adventures of The Little Mermaid, between Sunday 7th – Sunday 14th April.
The theatre has been presenting Easter Productions since 2018, when they staged Alice in
Wonderland, and they have become a popular Easter tradition for many families. Now,
following last year’s successful run of The Wizard of Oz, the theatre is excited to take audiences on an underwater adventure with some familiar faces.
After playing the Unicorn Fairy in their 2018 Christmas Pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the theatre are excited to welcome back TV personality Amelia Lily as The Sea Witch.
Amelia shot to fame in 2011 after reaching the final of The X Factor. Since then, she has finished runner-up on Celebrity Big Brother, released her own music, and has starred in numerous touring and West End theatrical productions including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, American Idiot, and Shrek the Musical.
Amelia will be joined on stage by Lincoln’s very own Georgia Hayes-Cowley as The Little Mermaid. Georgia most recently starred as the title role in the theatre’s 2022 Christmas Pantomime, Cinderella. Audiences may also recognise her from her performances as Raksha (The Jungle Book, 2022), The Tin Woman (The Wizard of Oz, 2019), and the Slave of the Ring (Aladdin, 2017).
Also returning to New Theatre Royal stage is Camilia O’Grady as Sally the Seagull. Camilia previously starred in the 2021 Christmas Pantomime, Beauty & the Beast, as Gigi Vavavoom and Serenity Rose; as well as last year’s Easter Production, The Wizard of Oz, as The Lion.
They will be joined by New Theatre Royal debutants Alex Singh as Sebbie The Crab, Patrick Péclard as Tanner the Turtle, and Daniel Grice as The Sea King.
But that’s not all! After stealing the show as Toto in last year’s Easter production, The Wizard of Oz, and appearing alongside Ian Waite for several performances in their most recent Christmas Pantomime, Aladdin, Pumpkin the Paralysed Westie is also back to perform in selected performances.
The theatre are also proud to present a relaxed performance on Wednesday 10th April, 2pm.
During this performance certain elements of the production will be changed, for example there will be no loud bangs and auditorium lights will be brought up by 25%. This makes the show perfect for parents with babies and pre-school children and anyone with an Autism Spectrum Condition, sensory and communication disorder, or a learning disability.
Tickets start from just £15 for under 18s, £19 for over 65s, and from £21 for adults. Family tickets (four tickets, maximum two adults) are also available from £66, making this a bargain family trip out this Easter.
Packed full of high-energy dance routines, popular songs, boos, laughs, and a witty script, head under the sea for some laughter and fun, it’s the perfect Easter treat for everyone!
