Circus Starlight began as a response to the lack of arts provision and support during Lockdown. What began as a little pop up show in our local pub garden has grown into our popular aerial circus school and events company!
We are currently working on our second round of arts council funding, delivering an extensive series of workshops and shows across the county, giving young aspiring performers the chance to learn new circus skills, develop productions and perform alongside professional artists, giving them a whole range of important experiences and the chance to perform in a range of different settings.
We had an exciting summer with a mini tour of various festivals, events and village halls, and are now back into rehearsals to completely remake the show ready for Christmas! Keep an eye on our social media for tickets!
We have lots of classes to choose from depending on your age range, and lots more exciting things on the way too. We teach aerial hoop, silks, trapeze and hammock, as well as hula hoops, poi, tightwire, walking globe and loads more!
Classes are lead by industry professionals who have qualifications in dance, fitness, acro and aerial, and have exceptional performance credits such as Webers Circus in Australia and The Circus of Horrors UK!
We pride ourselves on our extensive knowledge of aerial, circus arts and teaching practices, ensuring all participants are welcomed, and nurtured, in a safe and creative environment. Our ethos has always been about community spirit, as such we’ve had a number of young people find their tribe through our classes, forming life-long bonds of friendship and support, which is exactly what we love about what we do!
School Principal, Nikki, recently updated her knowledge by completing a qualification in delivering Acro through Acrobatic Arts, which means we can now offer exams and certificates in ground based acro skills. We are also in the process of writing a BTEC in circus and performing arts for ages 16-19, and becoming an independent learning centre in order to deliver this.
We have lots of performance opportunities throughout the year for our students to take part in, as this gives us something fun to work towards and is a fantastic opportunity to show all our families and friends what has been learned in class. And, we have shows for you to watch the professionals in action as we love to inspire the next generation! So if you fancy yourself the next Greatest Showman, come and join us!
