Rand Farm Boxing Day at The Races
With an afternoon of entertainment and an action-packed card, there’s no better way to blow off the cobwebs after a Christmas Day indoors than the Rand Farm Park Boxing Day At The Races.
The Racing…
One of our most popular fixtures of the season, it regularly draws a bumper crowd for an afternoon of high quality racing. And as well as watching the action unfold in front of you, there’s an opportunity to keep up to date with all the drama at Kempton Park as we screen the Grade One Ladbrokes King George VI Chase and other races on our big screen.
Our feature race on the day is the prestigious Lincolnshire National over three and a half miles. Serving as Market Rasen’s answer to the iconic Grand National at Aintree, the Lincolnshire equivalent is a strong test of stamina and requires a classy type to win it.
The unique nature of the ‘regional’ National races offers specialist stayers an advantage and some of the top contenders regularly contest them as a consequence. Leading yards to have won this in recent years include Dan Skelton and David Pipe and with so much on the line, a pulsating finish is guaranteed.
The Entertainment…
We’ll have food stalls, festive treats and plenty of entertainment, meaning there’s something for everyone at our Boxing Day meeting. So switch off the TV, put down those leftovers and join us for…
LIVE MUSIC!
In the County Enclosure, you’ll find vocalist Aston Dobson performing in before and in between races!
Aston has appeared as a guest act opening for many well-known artists, in 2011 he was the opening act for Nelly Furtado at the São Carlos Opera house in Lisbon. Aston has also supported other well know acts though out the years, including Craig David, Andy Williams, Taio Cruz, Chas & Dave, and The Saturdays.
In the General Admission enclosure (located inside the marquee on the Red Rum Lawn), you’ll find the Moonshiners duo performing 1950s entertainment at its best…with a festive twist before and in between racing.
And travelling around the site you’ll find the Hot Dogs Brass Band trio! They’ll be hard to miss in their festive attire performing pop, dance and Christmas covers in a New Orleans Street style!
And it doesn’t stop there…
GIANT SNOWGLOBE!

Climb into a magical Winter Wonderland scene and surround yourself with fabulously-fake snow! Up to 8 people at a time can climb inside the walk-in inflatable Snow Globe so it’s great for group photo opportunities! Located outside the main family marquee on the Red Rum Lawn, make sure you get the perfect Christmas photo for the ‘gram!
