Meet Santa at His Enchanted Grotto

The festive celebrations begin with the arrival of Santa himself, who will officially open his Waterside Grotto from 22 November. Children are invited to step into a world of wonder as they greet Santa, share their Christmas wishes, and enjoy a truly enchanting experience. The grotto will be open throughout the season, offering memorable moments for families to cherish. Pre-booking is highly recommended to avoid disappointment, as this much-loved attraction is expected to be very popular.

Capture the Magic During the City’s Ice Trail – 6–7 December

On 6 and 7 December, Waterside will be joining the city’s iconic Ice Trail with an attraction guaranteed to delight visitors. Shoppers are invited to step inside a giant Snow Globe for a festive photo opportunity—perfect for capturing a magical Christmas moment with friends and family. Whether you’re exploring the trail or stopping by for some seasonal shopping, the Snow Globe adds a fun and unique highlight to your weekend.

Late Night Shopping With Live Choirs – Every Thursday From 27 November

To make Christmas shopping even easier, Waterside will be open later than usual every Thursday from 27 November right up until Christmas. Stores will remain open until 7pm, allowing visitors plenty of extra time to find the perfect gifts, enjoy a relaxed shopping experience, or simply soak up the seasonal atmosphere.

Adding to the festive cheer, live choirs will be performing on 4, 11, and 18 December, filling the centre with beautiful Christmas music as you shop. These uplifting performances create the perfect backdrop to an evening of browsing, gift-hunting, and celebrating the spirit of the season.

Extended Christmas Opening Hours

To help everyone make the most of their festive preparations, Waterside will also be extending its Saturday opening hours to 6pm throughout the Christmas period. Whether you’re picking up last-minute presents or enjoying a day out with loved ones, the extra time means you can shop at your own pace.
