Look out for a whole array of activities across the city this half term. Brought to you by Lincoln BIG, working with City of Lincoln Council and Continental Drifts, there will be a range of FUN, FREE ACTIVITIES for everyone to enjoy over the half term holidays (12th -20th Feb).
These include:
– Arts and Crafts 
– Street theatre and performances 
– Costumed characters 
– Activities and workshops 
This project is funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) / Welcome Back Fund, which has been allocated to Lincoln by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) in response to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Saturday 12th February
Wimbledon comes to your event with a pristine court, dead posh umpire and highly strung player looking to take on all comers.
A hilarious but thrilling ‘one setter’ is played out live before an enraptured crowd with all the drama of the real thing including slow motion replays, heated line calls and live commentary.
Members of the audience in full costume play the parts of the challenger, ball boys and girls, physiotherapists, and even royalty for the grand finale trophy presentation.

Liver Cottage (Fairly Famous Family)

The comedy chefs – Hugh Fearn and Lee Whittingstall – present a cookery demonstration like no other.
As the mobile kitchen garden moves through the crowds they create ‘fusion food on the move’, blending home grown ingredients with food foraged from the corner shop, the streets and of course the audience.

Makendoo Workshops

Pongo (Flying Buttresses)

Pongo, the world’s only eight-foot baby Obobee bird, is loved by adults and children alike for his charming personality and stunning appearance. This playful hatchling is accompanied by eccentric pet shop owner Bill Oddity, an inter-dimentional travelling salesman with a menagerie of the galaxy’s most extraordinary creatures and a sales technique that is out of this world! Having accidentally been transported to our dimension, Pongo and Bill Oddity must find a way home by any means possible…and if Bill can shift some stock on the way, so much the better. Quantum physics meets animal husbandry.
Pongo is a totally unique animatronic creature, fitted with custom built mechanisms and actuators that allow the hidden puppeteer to animate the various features of Pongo, from the subtlest fluttering of his eye lids to magnificent leaps and bounds.
Hodman and Sally (Flying Buttresses)

An enchanting interactive puppetry walkabout. Hodman and Sally have lived happily by themselves for hundreds of years, blissfully unaware of the changing world around them. Now they have ventured out in search of fame, fortune and friendship, enjoying a second youth touring the world with their possessions strapped to their backs.

Yes, Bowjangles is a string quartet, but it’s much more than that. It is also physical theatre and exuberant storytelling with A LOT of comedy. We were never satisfied sitting still and playing our instruments, so over the years we added more and more dimensions to our performances, and now we create our own theatre shows where we provide our own musical score. We love to PLAY.

Showtime Circus Workshops

Showtime Circus are providing some awesome circus artists to WOW you with their aerial acrobatics, hula hooping and stiltwalking, as well as giving you the chance to try out all of the skills yourself too! All artists have performed internationally with the circus and bring to you a super fun, family show which you can get involved in! Workshops are drop-in and will be running 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm With a 20 minute show at 4 pm on both days.

Ian Marchant performs unique turns with everyday objects. He demonstrates classic vaudevillian feats of skill, mime and physical comedy with plenty of audience participation, all wrapped up in a dinner suit, bow tie and a smart pair of shoes.
Hats will be juggled, table cloths will be pulled, crockery will be caught, walking sticks will be balanced, spoons will be flipped … nothing and no-one is safe…

The ladies from Granny Turismo have been delighting audiences since 2009 are now one of the most talked-about acts around. The show is part walkabout, part circle-show and wholly engaging. When these girls arrive on their souped-up shopping trolleys, everyone takes notice.

A 30 street theatre walkabout performance
The Fairly Fresh Fish Co. move through a crowd offering the traditional fare of a seafood stall. As the audience looks down upon the tray however, they quickly realise that not all is as it should be…
There are prawns dancing and an octopus springing to life alongside strange stirrings in the jellied eel jar and a worrying seafood smoothie amongst other delights. All the creatures are made with exquisite attention to detail and are a joy to look at.
