Lincs in Focus: Lincolnshire Cookery School will be opening soon – here is owner Fiona Lucas to tell us more…

From a young girl I had my heart set on cooking professionally, at 16 I started training at
Catering College and worked my way through the ranks, until in 2004 I owned my own
Public House and Restaurant.
I then met my husband Mark who is a pig farmer and decided to train through Hull
University to become a Teacher.
I progressed from University to teaching in a Teacher in Young Offenders Prison, and
Pupil Referral Units in Yorkshire as a Food Teacher.
In 2010 we relocated our family to Lincolnshire and never looked back. I continued
teaching in Secondary Schools.
We now own and rent 2 farms in the heart of Lincolnshire.
We bought ‘Hill Farm’ in Snelland in 2011 which dates back to 1844, and in need of a lot of
renovation as it was very dated. My dream was to convert the stables on Hill Farm into an
Independent Cookery School and this dream is now coming true.
